Melanie gave me a lift to Bury St Edmunds for the East Anglian Beer Festival. Melanie doesn’t drink beer and I went with Aled and one of his friends, Graham. The start of the evening was a chilly 90 minutes queuing to get in, entertained with a couple of pints of IPA from The Nutshell, probably the smallest pub in the UK. Once in there was plenty of space and time for a quick pint, before I had to leave at 9.30 for the last train back to Cambridge!
So I only had time for one beer: Might Oak Simply the Best, which was a good beer, but a bit too hoppy for me. I had been trying to grab an Old Chimneys Golden Pheasant but it was finished. Aled tried the Old Chimneys Medium Dry Cider—it was rank!
