What a great selection of craft beers (and craft beards!). Kernel Motueka was stunning. Firebrand Double Rye IPA-the brewery is only one week old. Tasty!
Exploring pubs around us in north Bristol with CAMRA. About 26 on this trip so we have a coach to drive us around.
The Cambridge Arms, for a quick half. On familiar ground here.
Then a drive to Fishponds to the Van Dyck Forum, a good Weatherspoon’s with a great Bristol Bell IPA (5%).
Stapleton next to the Mason’s Arms: a stone’s throw from where Duncan lives. Nice Wyve Valley Butty Bach. Worth a return visit in the summer to check out the garden, which we heard good things about
Another trip, another beer. This time at the New Inn at Mayshill, just north of Coalpit Heath. Lovely Tim Taylors Landlord.
The Kings Arms in Kingswood. Quite a different pub from the last one. Gorge Best was gorge and well matched to pork scratchings. Landlord was very nice. He learned his trade at the Cambridge Beer Festival and goes most years.
Last pub for the night is Saint George’s Hall, Redfield. Michael had a Deerhunter and I had a Bass for old times sake.
Great evening! Thanks Vince. We’ll have to work out how to roll home now, via the Cornubia!?
