Steven visits Bristol
Had a lovely visit from Steven while he and Craig were in the UK. Craig was over in Dublin for part of his CUP obligations.
Steven arrived in Thursday and went back to London to meet up with Craig yesterday. ON Thursday we had dinner at Dev’s which was lovely and had a good catch up. On Friday we took the train over to Bath and visited the Roman Baths which were much larger than I remembered, then we had lunch at the Roman Kitchen by the Cathedral. Afternoon was having a quick look at the Royal Crescent, and then we had four hours in the Thermae Baths which was very relaxing, watching men go by and just mooching. Into town we had a pizza at the Annexe and then watched The Imitation game on TV, very good. Saturday we headed over to Tyntesfield Stately home after Michael finished a dashing 18 mile cycle ride. Lovely visit, it was pretty impressive. Lunch back home, then a rest before heading out to the Cube Microplex to see Cruising with Al PAcino, which was really good, followed by Interior Leather, which was an awful remake of what the 40 ‘cut’ minutes might have been that had to be removed to avoid the film getting an X Certificate. The whole hour was a film about making a film ad very self indulgent. It make cruising looks even more professional! We searched for dinner up the Gloucester Road and finally got into the Xing Long, which gave us a lovely meal: Aubergine with Fish in a pot was tasty, as was the beef in green beans and asparagus and mushrooms. Then onto Sunday, we had a wander around town after parking at IOP: we wook inthe harbour, harbour ferry, lunch at the Grain Barge, Queens Square and the St Mary Redcliffe Church. Packed few days, I hope we didn’t tire him out.!
Michael took the train to London with Steven, and I went for a swim in the lake. 8 lengths of the full thing, with a souple of saunas – very lovely.
Steven looked very good and was happy. Great
